Boxing Day Tractor Run 2011

The Boxing Day Tractor Run visited local villages and Little Lakes to raise money for the Prostate Cancer Support Group Kidderminster.
The event raised a fantastic £707.00 with Little Lakes donation of £100.00.
The money raised will enable the group to continue with their program of PSA testing in an effort to diagnose prostate cancer early when it is more easily treatable.

Kidderminster Hospital will be arranging a PSA testing on 16th April 2012 in Kidderminster Town Hall at 7:00pm. Anyone over the age of 50 who have not received the blood test from their GP are welcome to attend.

Swimming Pool Closing Date

The pool closes Sunday 11th September - Remember, even though the weather is not at it's greatest the pool is lovely and warm and well worth a visit!

Little Lakes would like to congratulate the rambling club for raising a fabulous £529.97 for the Midlands Air Ambulance charity at the start of August.

The charity supports the Air Ambulance service across the Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Stafforshire, West Midlands, Worcestershire and the Welsh border region.

The charity relies entirely on voluntary support and receives no state aid or National Lottery funding and are grateful for any contribution.

Little Lakes Funday

The Funday was held on Bank Holiday Monday 30th May.
Keeping with tradition the weather thought it would be fun to rain all day..! Not that it stopped us or put us off having a fun family day out!!

The funday was supporting the Adoption UK 40th Anniversary Appeal and the Air Ambulance.

We manged to raise £825 and still counting for the Air Ambulance and £76.40 for the Adoption UK 40th Anniversary Appeal.

We would like to thank everyone who helped on the day and for people who donated prizes towards the tombola and donated their their books for the book stall.

The Swimming Pool

The weather is getting better now, the sunny days are getting warmer.

You will be glad to hear the swimming pool will be opening on Saturday 15th May and will be open till September.

The swimming pool is a great place to spend the weekend and holidays with the children or to just relax by the pool side with your favorite book.

There are so many park members who take a lot of care and pride in looking after their gardens, so we thought it would be a great idea to host a garden competition.

We are searching for garden of the year 2009 on Little Lakes Holiday Park. With a first, second and third prize to be won for the best three.

We thought that June would be the best time to see your gardens in bloom with the sun shinning. We plan to assemble an expert panel of judges who will endeavor to vote for their favorite three.

Remember, we are looking for creativity, colour and something a little different.

There will be a presentation at the end in the clubhouse, all welcome!

I am pleased to announce that enough bottle tops were collected to match the boys weight, winning him a brand new specialist wheelchair, specially suited to his needs. Latest Postal Deliveries Scam

Can you circulate this around especially as Christmas is fast approaching – it has been confirmed by Royal Mail. The Trading Standards office are making people aware of the following scam:

A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they are unable to deliver a parcel and you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a premium rate number). DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize.
If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £15 for the phone call.

If you do receive a card with these details, then please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 02072396655 or ICSTIS (the premium rate service regulator) at www.icstis.org.uk

Angling Club Newsletter for November

The lake has been updated and improved since the last newsletter with slabs being placed along the left hand bank to specify fishing pegs. This should make fishing this side of the lake more comfortable during wet weather. There has also been a disabled peg placed along this side, primarily for people with wheelchairs or disabled scooters. If a non-disabled person wants to fish this peg they should be mindful and vacate the peg if a disabled person arrives to fish.
Due to his work commitments one of our long standing Bailiffs, Mick Cullen has sadly handed in his card. We would like to thank Mick for all his help, assistance and guidance over the past years. This position has been filled by Mr Dave Finn. He will assist Alan Evans and myself, Dave Green with the maintenance and upkeep of the Lake and its rules.
Little Lakes management have recently put up two new rule boards one on each side of the lake, stating the fishing rules and regulations. It is most important that these rules and regulations are adhered to at all times. So please read these rules before you commence fishing.
Recently it has been bought to our attention that some people are fishing without LANDING NETS. It is essential that landing nets be used at all times to avoid damage to the fish and their mouths. Anyone found fishing without a LANDING NET will be asked to leave the lake.
We would like to congratulate Dave Lodge who in a recent Little Lakes contest weighed in a new Lake record, 31lbs. (Well done Dave)
In second place was Alan Curtis, who caught 20lb (Well done Alan)
During the summer we saw an increase in people enjoying the fishing on our lake. Reece Tomalin (age 8) was very proud of his catch. Reece was visiting his Grandparents during the school holiday, and enjoyed a day fishing with his Granddad. (A lovely fish Reece bigger than any our bailiffs Dave Green or Alan Evans have caught this year!)
Finally we would like to point out that whilst we hold regular fishing contests on the Lake. Little Lakes is a Holiday Park, should you wish to pleasure fish whilst a contest is in progress you are allowed to do so.

Little Lakes Joining Local Football League

Little Lakes Holiday Park are putting together a five aside football team that we are entering in to the Rock Football league.
We are supplying all our young talented footballers the kit they will need to look the part!
A volunteer, Kane Bowen, has kindly offered to train the team ready to enter the league.
Everyone at Little Lakes would like to wish our team all the luck in the world and hope they do really well.

OPEN WEEKEND!!

Little Lakes Holiday Park is hosting an open weekend where everyone is welcome to join the fun! The open weekend is held on the 17th and 18th May, 10am till 4pm, where we have major named caravans on show for you to look in, Carnaby, Willerby and Bk Bluebird. A BBQ with a free glass of wine will be available to keep the hunger monster away, a live jazz band will be playing throughout the day and a bouncy castle for the little ones along with our playground should keep them entertained!
We welcome you to have a look around the park, visit the clubhouse, see our 18 hole 71 par golf course and to take a look at our swimming pool in action. If you fall in love with the park and put a deposit down that day we will be offering for this weekend only a 5% discount on our stock caravans. Easter Sunday at Little Lakes

Here at Little Lakes we thought we would get into the Easter spirit by haveing some traditional easter activities.

On Easter Sunday (22nd March) childrens egg decorating and bonnett making will be taking place in the childrens barn between 12 - 2pm.

There will also be an adult Easter bonnett parade being held on Easter Sunday in the clubhouse. Judging begins at 8:30pm. Prizes will be presented for the best bonnetts, so why not join in and get making.
